In continuation of my letter dated
August 27th, 1911, on the subject of the acquisition
of a Marine Lot by the #itsui Bussan Kaisha to which
you raised objection on the grounds offat the introduction
of a large number of Japanese coolies would constitute
a danger to the defence of the Colony, I have the
honour to inform you that I am informed that the
coolies employed by this and other Japanese firms
are of Chinese race. The Registrar General informs
me that so far as he is aware there are no Japanese
coolies in the Colony.
